Energy security of China focusing on oil and natural gas in 21th century

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá charakteristikou energetické bezpečnosti Číny, a to zejména v 21. století. S energetickou politikou a bezpečností úzce souvisí i ekonomický růst dané země. V případě Číny můžeme hovořit o rapidním nárůstu spotřeby energie. V důsledku ekonomického růstu, industrializace, zvyšování životní úrovně obyvatel a dalších vlivů si však vláda začala postupně uvědomovat vážnost problémů, které nastávají s růstem energetické závislosti země. Tato diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První, teoretická, kapitola definuje pojem energetická bezpečnost. Druhá kapitola se věnuje energetickému sektoru v Číně se zaměřením na ropu a zemní plyn. Poslední kapitola se zabývá energetickou náročností a závislostí země a analýze hrozeb, které z této náročnosti a závislosti plynou. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je čtenářům zodpovědět následující otázky: Jaká je míra závislosti Číny na dovozu ropy a zemního plynu a jaká jsou aktuální/chystaná opatření či projekty, kterými se země snaží zvýšit svou energetickou bezpečnost?

Abstract:

This thesis deals with characteristic of energy security in China, especially in 21th century. With energy policy and security is closely involved economic growth of given country. In case of China we can speak about rapid increase of energy consumption. As a result of economic growth, industrialization, increasing of living standard and other impacts, the government realizes seriousness of the problem which becoming with energy dependence of country. This thesis is divided into three chapters. First, theoretical, defines concept of energy security. Second chapter describes energy sector in China focusing on crude oil and natural gas. The last chapter deals with energy demands and dependence of the country and also analyses threats which result from this demands and dependence. The main aim of this thesis is answer following questions to the readers: What is the rate of dependence on oil and natural gas import and what are the current/planned measures or projects for increasing of country's energy security?
