Internal audit by the example of British Telecom

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá interním auditem a interním finančním auditem. Problematika je řešená z pohledu anglosaských zemí. Práce vysvětluje podstatu interního auditu, jeho funkce ve společnosti. Dále práce popisuje postup při provádění interního auditu, základní techniky interních auditorů, dokumentaci a výslednou zprávu auditu. Zabývá se osobností interního auditora, jeho odbornou přípravou. Zaměřuje se na měření výkonnosti funkce interního auditu. V praktické části je popsána organizace interního auditu v britské nadnárodní společnosti British Telecom, činnost Výboru pro audit a funkce interního finančního auditu dané společnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on internal audit and internal financial audit. The issue is solved from the point of view of Anglo-Saxon countries. The thesis explain the nature of internal audit, its functions in organisation. It also describes the process of carrying out internal audit, basic audit techniques, documentation and a final audit report. The work explore personality of internal auditor and his professional education. It focuses on measuring internal audit's value. In the practical part Organization of internal audit in British Telecom, activities of Audit Commettee and functions of internal financial audit in this particular company.
