Abnormal expression of cell cycle regulators, i.e. D1 cyclin, and cyclin dependent dinase inhibitor, i.e. p16 protein, are routinely detected in many type sof promary tumors. However, the significance of the above regulators as predictive factors in carcinomas of the orofacial region has not been studied extensively yet.
