Application of Design Thinking Principles in an Agency Stella Digit

Abstract:

Diplomová práca rozoberá súčasný proces navrhovania v agentúre Stella Digit a porovnáva ho s metódou dizajnového myslenia. Teoretická časť popisuje prepojenie dizajnu s metódu dizajnového myslenia, kedy vznikol samotný pojem, aké fázy zahŕňa dizajnové myslenie a prečo je prospešné aplikovať ho v kreatívnych agentúrach. Praktická časť s použitím kvalitatívneho výskumu formou individuálnych rozhovor a SWOT analýzy identifikuje prekážky v procesoch navrhovania, zamestnancov a pracovníkov na vedúcich pozíciách v agentúre. Prekážky bránia k úspešnému dokončeniu projektu, zhoršujú komunikáciu s klientom a zamestnancami samotnými. Navrhuje možné spôsoby zlepšenia procesu navrhovania prostredníctvom workshopu zameraného na tému dizajnového myslenia a analyzuje, aký potenciál by to mohlo mať pre pracovník v agentúre Stella Digit potenciál do budúcna. Výskum porovnáva výsledky s opismi v odbornej literatúre. Projektová časť sa zameriava na návrh prototypu workshopu, ktorý zefektívni zaužívané, stereotypné procesy navrhovania agentúry.

Abstract:

The thesis discusses the current design process in the Stella Digit agency and compares it to the design thinking method. The theoretical part describes the connection between design and the design thinking method, when the term itself was coined, what stages design thinking involves and why it is beneficial to apply it in creative agencies. The practical part, using qualitative research in the form of individual interviews and SWOT analysis, identifies the barriers in the processes of designing, employees and staff in leadership positions in the agency. Obstacles hinder the successful completion of the project, impair communication with the client and the employees themselves. It suggests possible ways to improve the design process through a workshop focused on the topic of design thinking, and analyzes what potential this could have for the workforce at the Stella Digit agency going forward. The research compares the results with descriptions in the literature. The project part focuses on the design of a prototype workshop that will streamline established, stereotypical agency design processes.
