The transformation of party system in Argentina in the period of the“Kirchnerism“

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vývojem stranického systému v Argentině od obnovení demokracie v 80.letech, se zaměřením zejména na období vlády Néstora Kirchnera a následně Cristiny Fernández de Kirchner. Typologizace argentinského stranického systému, jejíž analýzu v práci provádím, je založená především na teorii Giovanni Sartoriho. Na základě porovnání výsledků legislativních voleb od roku 2003-2013 sleduji zda dochází ke změně stranického systému. Dále se věnuji historickému sledu událostí, jež měly vliv na politický systém a popisuji vývoj dvou nejvýznamnějším stran v zemi, Partido Justicialista a Unión Cívica Radical

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the development of the party system in Argentina since the return to democracy in 1983, with the main focus on the period of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's government. The typology of the party system is based on the theory of Giovanni Sartori. Based on the comparison of legislative elections results since 2003, I aim to analyze the changes experienced in the party system. I also describe the historical background of the two main political parties in Argentina, Partido Justicialista and Unión Cívica Radical, and the sequence of events having effects on the political system.
