Audiovisual stimulation and its impact on attention

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá účinkem audiovizuální stimulace (AVS). Cílem výzkumu bylo zjištění vlivu AVS metody na pozornost. Projekt byl realizován jako kvaziexperiment, získaná data jsme zpracovávali kvantitativně. AVS přístroj působil stanovenými programy na tři uživatele. Tyto osoby podstoupili testy pozornosti před intervencí, pak po 100 dnech používání přístroje a nakonec po 13 měsících od poslední terapie. Výsledky a závěry této práce poukazují na pozitivní vliv terapie, trvalost účinku, efektivnost metody AVS a využitelnost u osob s poruchou pozornosti nebo u ostatních lidí k tréninku pozornosti či pro zlepšení funkcí mozku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the effect of audio-visual stimulation (AVS). The aim of the research was to determine the influence of the AVS method on attention. The project was implemented as a quasiexperiment, the obtained data were processed quantitatively. The AVS device worked with specified programs upon three users. These subjects underwent attention tests before the intervention, then after 100 days of using the device and finally 13 months after the last therapy. The results and conclusions of this work point to the positive effect of the therapy, permanency of the effect, effectiveness of the AVS method and its usage in attention deficit disorder patients or in attention training or brain function improvement.
