Ageism (age discrimination) as the one of the social pathological phenomenon

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na jednu z forem sociálně patologických jevů zvanou ageismus a na jeho výskyt na pracovním trhu. Tato práce přibližuje ageismus jako jeden ze škály společenských problémů, které současný svět přináší, a který se v souvislosti s demografickou prognózou stává stále aktuálnější. Přestože je jeho přítomnost na pracovním trhu výzkumy potvrzena, nelze příčinu ztráty zaměstnání a potíží při jeho znovunabytí hledat pouze ve věku, ale i přesto je třeba vůči ageismu aktivně vystupovat. K eliminaci ageismu je zapotřebí vést mladou generaci k úctě, respektu a pochopení procesu stárnutí jako nedílné součásti lidského vývoje. Na druhé straně je důležité posilovat sebevědomí starších lidí a snažit se je neustále motivovat k získání nových vědomostí a dovedností.

Abstract:

Thesis is focused on one of the social pathology phenomenon called Ageism and its appearance of the employment market. Thesis presented Ageism as one of the social scale issues of the existing World and in context of the demographic prognosis is becoming more and more actual. In spite of the fact that Ageism is in accordance with the social research in the employment market present, the age is not the sole cause of the job loss and its recovery, but for all that it is necessary to fight actively against the Ageism. To eliminate Ageism is necessary to bring the young generation up to the respekt for senior and understanding of the ageing process as the integral part of the human evolution. On the other hand is important to support the senior self-confidence and motivate them constantly to acquire a new knowledge and skill acquisition.
