Súčasné podnikateľské prostredie vytvára také podmienky, ktoré neumožňujú spoločnostiam predvídať budúci vývoj v externom prostredí. Takto sa nemôžu rozhodovať za istoty, a preto im ich rozhodnutie s určitou pravdepodobnosťou môže priniesť nielen úspech ale aj prípadné straty vyplývajúce z finančných rizík, ktorým je každá spoločnosť vystavená.
