Analyzing Structured Data from Distributed Repositories

Abstract:

Aim of this work is to design a system for analyzing structured data with regard to diverse data sources. Also, the emphasis is on distributed repositories and their functionality in conjunction with the system. The work includes a partial implementation of the system. It lies in the implementation of access to data sources on MySQL servers, reading the system configuration from an XML file and creating a functional graphical user interface. The resulting implementation is subjected to tests in the form of performance measurement of obtaining analytical results and their subsequent storage. The essence of data analysis, description of the term OLAP and explanation of the reasons for creating the new system is encapsulated in a short theoretical part.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je navrhnúť systém na analýzu štruktúrovaných dát s ohľadom na rôznorodosť úložísk. Takisto je dôraz kladený na distribuované úložiská a ich funkčnosť v spojení so systémom. Súčasťou práce je aj čiastočná implementácia systému. Tá spočíva v implementácii prístupu k úložiskám na MySQL serveroch, čítania konfigurácie systému z XML súboru a vytvorení funkčného grafického používateľského rozhrania. Výsledná implementácia je podrobená testom v podobe merania výkonnosti pri získavaní výsledkov analýz a ich následnom ukladaní. V krátkej teoretickej časti je zhrnutá podstata analýzy dát, popísaný pojem OLAP a vysvetlené dôvody pre tvorbu nového systému.
