Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Karel Teige a architektura“ pojednává o postavení Karla Teigeho jako kritika architektury. Vztahuje se zejména na jeho názory týkající se rozporu umění a architektury. Důležitým bodem je řešení otázky bytové krize, jež se stala hlavním problémem architektury počátku dvacátého století. Snaha vyřešit bytovou krizi je zveřejňována v časopise Stavba, jež je ústředím Teigeho působnosti. Práce je orientovaná na situaci a prostředí, které se formovalo za vlády funkcionalismu nejen u nás, ale i v zahraničí. Funkcionalismu jakožto primárnímu směru počátku dvacátého století je věnována značná pozornost. Hlavně díky uplatnění jeho stavebních zásad v období nové výstavby. S funkcionalismem související mezinárodní působení je patrné v práci holandského hnutí De Stijl. Toto hnutí je důkazem spojování architektury s umění. Na zahraniční půdě s ním koresponduje výmarský Bauhaus, jehož prvotním plánem byla integrace všech druhů umění do architektury. Teigeho kritický přístup k architektuře jako vědě souvisí s naprostým oproštěním architektury od dekorativních prvků. V práci je zmíněn statut ornamentu jako naprosté zbytečnosti. Zjednodušováním, typizací a čistým výrazem staveb došlo k problému určit sloh moderní doby. Teige se zabývá koncepcí, která by měla platit za výraz nové doby, jejího slohu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis „Karel Teige and architecture“ deals with position of Karel Teige as the critic of architecture. It deals with his meaning about conflict of art and architecture especially. The important point is conception of living crisis question. The effort to resolve the living crisis is published in the journal Stavba, which is the centre of Teige’s activity. The work is focused on the situation and environment that is developing the government of functionalism, not only in our country but also abroad. The much attention is given for the primary direction of early twentieth century, functionalism. Thanks to the application of its principles in the new construction. International use of functionalism is evident in Dutch movement De Stijl activity. This movement is the proof of the connecting architecture and art. Weimar Bauhaus corresponded with them abroad. Its primary plan was integration of all kind of art to the architecture. Teige’s critical approach to the architecture as a Science related to the total removing architecture of decorative elements. Thesis deals with position of ornament as the total futility. A new problem with style’s determination was caused by simplification, standardizations and with pure expression of buildings. Teige deals with concept that should be the expression of new time, its style.
