The origin of modern calligraphy and its use

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je vznik moderní kaligrafie a její využití, neboť se stává velice oblíbenou metodou a nachází uplatnění v mnoha projektech, ať již komerčních nebo osobních. Její rozmach je dán především její autentičností, neboť se jedná o ruční tvorbu. Teoretická část nejprve poskytne vhled do oborů zabývajících se tvorbou písma a základních pravidel využívaných i při tvorbě ručně psaného písma. Následuje historický vývoj kaligrafie až po její moderní formu včetně využívaných nástrojů, které jsou pro vznik její moderní formy podstatné. Dále se poté teoretická část zabývá oblastmi, kde je v současnosti moderní kaligrafie využívána a jak s ní jednotliví současní tvůrci pracují.Praktická část využívá získaných poznatků z části teoretické pro tvorbu vlastních výukových materiálů moderní kaligrafie pro širokou veřejnost a grafické designéry. Obsahuje vysvětlení jednotlivých principů nutných pro zvládnutí jedné z metod moderní kaligrafe – kaligrafie štětcové.Přínos této práce spočívá v přiblížení oboru moderní kaligrafie široké veřejnosti a zhotovení materiálů sloužících pro její výuku.

Abstract:

The focus of this bachaleor thesis is the origin of modern calligraphy and its use. Modern calligraphy has become a very popular method and finds use in many commercial and personal projects. The rise of modern calligraphy is mainly due to its authenticity, because it is a handmade creation.The theoretical part will first provide insight into the areas of writing and basic rules used to create calligraphy. This is followed by the historical development of calligraphy to its modern form, including the tools that are essential to the emergence of its modern form. Next section of the theoretical part deals with areas where modern calligraphy is currently used and how individual creators work with modern calligraphy.The practical part uses acquired knowledge from the theoretical part for the creation of own teaching materials of modern calligraphy for the general public and graphic designers. It contains an explanation of the individual principles needed to handle one of the methods of modern calligraphy – brush calligraphy.The contribution of this work is to bring the modern calligraphy of the general public closer and to produce materials for calligraphic teaching.
