Dub City as a part of the Duchy of Frydlant

Abstract:

Moje bakalářská práce se věnuje městu Dubu, které bylo v první polovině 17. století součástí frýdlantského vévodství. V první části své práce se zaměřujina počátek vzniku frýdlantského vévodství, jehož stvořitelem a hlavou byl Albrecht Václav Eusebius z Valdštejna. Současně zde i zmiňuji jednotlivé události, které ke vzniku vévodství vedly a rovněž neopomínám stručně představit jeho správní organizaci.V dalších částech své práce se již zabývám městem Dubem a částečně i panstvím dubským, jehož součástí město bylo. U dubského panství uvádím kroky, které vedly k jeho včlenění do vévodství a jeho další dělení vévodovým leníkům. Představuji zde i stručný rozbor feudálních rent. Po stručné historii města Dubu rozebírám jednotlivá privilegia, která byla městu,od dob panování pánů z Vartemberka do konce existence frýdlantského vévodství, udělena. Zmiňuji zde zachovaný registr příjmů a výdajů města z let 1627 a 1628. Dále se věnuji náboženské situaci v Dubu a nastupující rekatolizaci po porážce stavů na Bílé hoře. V závěru se zmíním o osudu frýdlantského vévodství s důrazem na panství dubské po zavraždění Albrechta z Valdštejna v Chebu roku 1634.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis is devoted to the city Dub that was in the first half of the 17th century part of the Duchy of Friedland.In the first part of my work I focus on beginning of the formation of the Duchy of Friedland, which creator and head was Albrecht Václav Eusebius of Wallenstein. Simultaneously I mention individual events that led to the creation of the Duchy and I also briefly introduce its administrative organization. In other parts of my work I deal with the city Dub and partly Dubs´smanor, which includes the city Dub. At Dub´s manor I mention steps that led to its incorporation into the duchy and its further subdivision to Duke´s fiefs. Here I present a brief analysis of feudal rent.After a brief history of the town Dub I deal with individual privileges, which had been granted to the city Dub since the reign of the Lords of Wartenberg to the end of existence of the Duchy of Friedland. I refer there to preserved register of city revenues and expenditures from the years 1627 and 1628. In addition, I describe religious situation in the city Dub and emerging recatholisation after the defeat of Czech Nobility at Bíláhora. In conclusion, I mention the fate of the Duchy of Friedland, with emphasis on the Dub´s manor after the assassination of Albrecht von Wallenstein in 1634.
