Financial crises and their causes

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Finanční krize a příčiny jejich vzniku“ je analýza, zhodnocení a vzájemné porovnání hlavních příčin finančních krizí od 20. století. První část práce je zaměřena na teoretický popis fungovaní a strukturu finančních trhů s uvedením možných typů jejich selhání a posouzení nesporného vlivu globalizace na vývoj světových ekonomik a definici kladů a záporů samotné globalizace. Druhá část je věnována popisu „moderních“ finančních krizí se zaměřením na jejich společný rys, analýzu důvodů jejich vzniku a následků a srovnání nákladů a délky finančních krizí. V poslední části práce uvádí možná protikrizová opatření.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Financial crises and their causes” is the analysis, evaluation and mutual comparison of the main causes of financial crises from the 20th century. The first part of the thesis focuses on a theoretical description of the financial markets functioning and structure, indicating the possible types of their failures and examination of the indisputable influence of globalization on the world economies development and the definition of the pros and cons of globalization itself. The second part is devoted to the description of "modern" financial crises with a focus on their common feature, the analysis of their origin reasons and consequences, and the comparison of costs and duration of financial crises. In the last part of the thesis, I describe possible anti-crisis measures.
