Education of pupils with mild mental disabilities at primary school

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá edukací žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením v běžných základních školách Libereckého kraje. Cílem práce je zjistit způsob edukace žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením, druhy využívaných metod výuky a podpory asistenta pedagoga v hodinách českého jazyka z pohledu pedagogického pracovníka. Dále zjistit názor pedagogických pracovníků na potřebu asistenta pedagoga při edukaci jedince s LMP. Diplomová práce se skládá z teoretické části, kde jsou akcentovány pojmy jako např. integrace, inkluze a inkluzivní vzdělávání, mentální postižení, specifika vzdělávání žáka s lehkým mentálním postižením, metody a formy práce a v neposlední řadě podpůrná opatření, kterých mají žáci se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami možnost využívat. Empirická část této práce se zabývá popisem výzkumu, který proběhl na několika základních školách v Libereckém kraji. Shromážděné údaje získané z empirického šetření u učitelů jsou v práci v rámci komparativního přístupu konfrontovány s odbornou literaturou na základě její obsahové analýzy.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with educating pupils with mild mental disabilities in regular primary schools in the Liberec region. The aim of the thesis is to find out the way of educating pupils with mild mental disabilities, determine the types of teaching methods used and the help of a teaching assistant in Czech language lessons from the pedagogical worker's point of view. Furthermore, to find out pedagogical staff's opinion on the need for a teacher's assistant in the education of an individual with MMD. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, which emphasizes concepts such as integration, inclusion and inclusive education, mental disabilities, the specifics of education of a pupil with mild mental disabilities, methods and forms of work and, last but not least, support measures that pupils with special educational needs have the opportunity to use. The empirical part of this work deals with the description of research that took place at several primary schools in the Liberec region. The collected data obtained from the empirical survey of teachers are confronted in the work within a comparative approach with the literature based on its content analysis.
