The impact of employee benefits on employees satisfaction and their loyalty to the employer

Abstract:

Lidé jsou zdrojem nápadů a inovací, proto je nezbytně nutné, aby se společnosti zaměřily na řízení výkonnosti lidských zdrojů s cílem nízké fluktuace zaměstnanců a celkové spokojenosti zaměstnanců. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit vztah mezi spokojeností s nabízenými benefity, loajalitou a vnímanou produktivitou zaměstnanců ve stavební firmě. Práce ověřuje, zda jsou benefity pro zaměstnance důležité a zda se na základě nich rozhodují, jestli v práci setrvat či odejít. Základní metodou k naplnění cíle práce je dotazníkové šetření. Dotazník byl rozeslán všem zaměstnancům firmy prostřednictvím firemního e-mailu a dále rozdán v tištěné formě zaměstnancům na dělnických pozicích. Výzkumný vzorek obsahuje 158 odpovědí zaměstnanců. Data byla zpracována za pomoci softwaru MS Excel a Statistika. Hlavní metodou vyhodnocení dat byla statistická metoda Pearsonův Chí-kvadrát test nezávislosti. Loajalita byla vyhodnocována na základě teoretických poznatků, jako tendence zaměstnanců k odchodu ze zaměstnání. V práci byl potvrzen vliv spokojenosti s nabízenými benefity na loajalitu zaměstnanců. Dále bylo prokázáno, že ani věk ani délka zaměstnání nemají vliv na loajalitu zaměstnanců. Vliv spokojenosti s nabízenými benefity na vnímanou produktivitu zaměstnanců prokázán nebyl. Stejně tak nebyl prokázán vliv spokojenosti s nabízenými benefity na věku zaměstnanců. Organizace, pro kterou byla práce zpracována, chce zavést některé z benefitů, a tak práce ověřovala, zda je o tyto benefity skutečně zájem. Na základě tohoto zjištění byl na konci práce organizaci předložen návrh s předpokládanými náklady na zavedení benefitů pro větší spokojenost a loajálnost zaměstnanců.

Abstract:

People are a source of ideas and innovations, so it is absolutely necessary for companies to focus on managing human resource performance with the goal of low employee turnover and overall employee satisfaction. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find the relationship between satisfaction with the offered benefits, loyalty and perceived productivity of employees in a construction company. The thesis verifies, whether these benefits are important for employees and if they influence their decision whether to stay at work or leave. The basic method for fulfilling the aim of the thesis is a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was sent to all employees of the company via company e-mail and further distributed in printed form to employees in manual positions. The research sample contains 5 158 employee responses. The data were processed using MS Excel and Statistika software. The main method of data evaluation was the statistical method of Pearson's Chi-square test of independence. Loyalty was evaluated on the basis of theoretical knowledge, such as the tendency of employees to leave the company. The work confirmed that satisfaction with the benefits offered had effect on employee loyalty. Furthermore, it was shown that neither age nor length of employment affect the loyalty of employees. The effect of satisfaction with the benefits offered on the perceived productivity of employees was not proved. Likewise, the effect of satisfaction with the benefits offered on the age of employees was not proved. The organization for which the thesis was prepared wants to introduce some of the benefits, so the thesis verified whether there is really interest in these benefits. Based on this finding, the thesis was concluded with a proposal submitting to the organization the expected costs of introducing benefits for greater employee satisfaction and loyalty.
