Práce se zabývá postavou upíra, jak je prezentována v literatuře do konce 19. století. Pomocí analýzy jednotlivých děl mapuje změny, kterými tato původně folklorní postava prošla od lidových pověr, přes poezii a prózu až k Drákulovi a dnešnímu popkulturnímu fenoménu. Abstract:
The thesis deals with the character of the vampire as presented in literature until the end of 19th century. By analyzing individual stories it describes changes of the character of the vampire from folk lore, through poetry and prose to Dracula and nowadays phenomenon of the vampire.
