The Work of an Educator in a Children's Home as a Life Mission

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na profesi vychovatele v dětském domově. Cílem práce je přiblížit roli vychovatele v dětském domově, ukázat, jaká s sebou nese úskalí a jaká potěšení přináší. První kapitola teoretické části vymezuje stav zkoumaného tématu v literatuře, vztah zvoleného tématu k sociální pedagogice a pojmy související s problematikou. Druhá kapitola popisuje dětský domov jako instituci náhradní výchovné péče a zabývá se historickým a současným pohledem na ústavní výchovu, legislativním rámcem a následně činností dětského domova, co je jeho součástí a jaký je jeho hlavní úkol. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na roli vychovatele v dětském domově. Popisuje náplň práce vychovatele a činnosti, které zastává. Dále pak motivaci a důvody k volbě profese. Praktická část se zabývá otázkou, jak vnímají vychovatelé pracující v dětském domově svou profesi. Na základě kvalitativního výzkumu se zjišťovalo, co vedlo vychovatele k volbě jejich povolání, zda práce zasahuje do jejich osobního života a v čem vidí vychovatelé smysl své práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the profession of educator in a children's Home. The aim of the work is to introduce the role of the educator in the children's home and show what pitfalls and pleasures it brings. First chapter of the theoretical part defines the state of the researched topic in the literature, the relationship of the chosen topic to social ped-agogy and concepts related to the issue. The second chapter describes the children's home as an institution of alternative educational care and it deals with the historical and current view of institutional education, the legislative framework and subsequently the activities of the children's home and investigate what is its part and what is its main task. The third chapter focuses on the role of the educator in the children's home. Describes the scope of work of the educator and the activities he holds. Then, motivation and reasons for choos-ing this profession. In the practical part the question of how educators working in a chil-dren's home perceive their profession is dealt with. Based on qualitative research, it was found out what led educators to choose their profession, whether work interferes with their personal lives and what educators see the meaning of their work.
