Consumer behaviour in the dietary supplement market

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá chováním onkologických spotřebitelů na trhu s doplňky stravy v České republice. Cílem práce je identifikovat faktory, které nejvíce ovlivňují tento specifický segment během nákupního rozhodovacího procesu a na základě zjištěných faktorů formulovat doporučení pro podnikatelské subjekty, jak na vybraný segment cílit pomocí etické a efektivní marketingové komunikace. Literární rešerše podává věcný kompilát odborných poznatků týkajících se spotřebitelského chování a pojmů s ním souvisejících. Analytická část se nejdříve zaměřuje na sběr sekundárních dat, v rámci nichž jsou uvedeny charakteristiky daného trhu i vybraného segmentu. Rovněž se analytická část zaobírá rozborem dotazníkového šetření a hloubkových rozhovorů provedených za účelem získání primárních dat. Na základě nabytých poznatků jsou formulovány tři návrhy a doporučení pro podnikatelské subjekty sloužící k co nejlepšímu zacílení na vybraný segment.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the behavior of oncology consumers on the market of dietary supplements in the Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to identify the factors that most influence this specific segment during the purchase decision-making process and based on the identified factors, to formulate recommendations for business entities on how to target the selected segment using ethical and effective marketing communication. The literature review provides a substantive compilation of expert knowledge regarding consumer behavior and concepts related to it. The analytical part focuses on the collection of secondary data in which the characteristics of the given market and the selected segment are presented. The analytical part also deals with the analysis of the questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews conducted in order to obtain primary data. Based on the knowledge gained, three suggestions and recommendations are formulated for business entities to target the selected segment as best as possible.
