Abstract:

Autonomní vozidla (AV) představují dynamicky se rozvíjející technologií, od níž se očekávají zásadní změny v dopravě. Klíčovým předpokladem přijetí technologie je záměr danou technologii používat. Cílem této práce je popsat a modelovat záměr používat AV (jako takové i při dočasně snížené schopnosti řídit omezení), přičemž integruje přístupy psychologie osobnosti (Driving Locus of Control neboli DLoC) a sociální psychologie (Teorie plánovaného chování neboli TPB; Teorie šíření inovací neboli IDT) a sociálně-ekologickou perspektivu. Studie I zkoumá strukturu instrumentálních a afektivních postojů souvisejících s AV a záměr používat AV jako takové. Studie II se zabývá vztahem mezi DLoC, tj. osobnostním rysem, který má predikovat postoje k AV a záměr používat AV. Studie III modeluje záměr používat AV ve stavu dočasně snížené schopnosti řízení na základě integrace prvků z TPB, IDT a sociálně-ekologické perspektivy. Studie IV se zaměřuje na komunikační kanály vhodné ke sdělování informací o AV pro různé subpopulace. Studie I-III pracovaly s daty z rozsáhlého průzkumu reprezentativního pro českou populaci starší 15 let. Ve studii IV byly provedeny ohniskové skupiny a následně další rozsáhlý reprezentativní průzkum, který zahrnoval podněty z těchto ohnisových skupin. Výsledky Studie I ukazují, že ačkoli je převažující hodnocení AV pozitivní nebo neutrální, pouze menšina respondentů vyjádřila záměr AV používat. Nejčastěji uváděným důvodem pro ně byla očekávaná cena technologie. Senioři (zejména ženy), tj. subpopulace, která by mohla mít z této technologie největší prospěch, deklarovali nejmenší záměr AV využívat. Ve Studii II interní nebo externí DLoC nepredikovalo záměr používat AV, ale interně orientovaní respondenti viděli v AV vyšší instrumentální hodnotu. Zjištění Studie III naznačují, že záměr použít AV při dočasně snížené schopnosti řídit je určeny především postoji, jako je vnímaná instrumentální hodnota AV, a nikoli sociodemografickými vlastnostmi. Respondenti se zkušenostmi s pokročilými asistenčními systémy pro řidiče (ADAS), častěji vyjadřovali záměr použít AV obecně i v kontextu dočasně snížené schopnosti řídit. Studie IV ukazuje, že podstatná část respondentů napříč pohlavími a věkovými skupinami má zájem "vyzkoušet si" AV, aby se o této technologii dozvěděla více.

Abstract:

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are an emerging technology promising to reshape the way individuals travel dramatically. A key component of technology adoption is the intention to use the given technology. This thesis aims to describe and model the intention to use AVs (as such and when temporarily impaired), integrating approaches of personality (Driving Locus of Control or DLoC) and social psychology (the Theory of Planned Behaviour or TPB; the Innovation diffusion theory or IDT) and the socio-ecological perspective. Study I explores the structure of the instrumental and affective attitudes related to AVs and the intention to use AVs as such. Study II takes on the relationship between DLoC, i.e. a personality trait hypothesised to predict attitudes towards AVs and the intention to use AVs. Study III creates a modelling approach integrating elements from TPB, IDT, and socio-ecological perspectives when predicting situational intention to use AVs. Study IV focuses on the channels suitable to communicate information about AVs to different subpopulations. Studies I-III used data from a large survey representative of the Czech population aged 15 years and older. In Study IV, focus groups were conducted, followed by another large representative survey informed by these focus groups. The results of Study I suggest that although the majority of views on AVs are positive or neutral, only a minority of respondents declared the intention to use AVs. The most frequently stated reason was the expected price of the technology. Senior adults (especially women), i.e. a subpopulation that could benefit from this technology the most, declared the least intent to use AVs. In Study II, the internality or externality of DLoC does not predict the intention to use AVs, but internally oriented respondents saw more instrumental value in the AVs. Findings of Study III indicate that intentions to use an AV while temporarily impaired are primarily defined by attitudes like the perceived instrumental value of AVs rather than socio-demographic attributes. Respondents with experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) were more likely to declare the intention to use an AV in general and while temporarily impaired. Study IV shows that a substantial proportion of respondents across genders and age groups are interested in “experiencing” AVs to inform themselves about the technology.
