Personalism in the works and thought of John Paul II.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zpracováním personalismu v myšlení a díle Jana Pavla II. Její první část se zaměřuje na chronologické zachycení jeho života a díla se snahou prokázat vývoj a integritu této osobnosti v různých životních situacích a zároveň postihnout vývoj jeho pojetí tomistického personalismu z dostupných textů. Druhá část vymezuje rozdíly i shody filozofické koncepce tohoto autora s filozofickými koncepcemi jiných autorů personalismu. Na základě uvedených filozofických předpokladů je v poslední části práce provedena personalistická analýza vybraných encyklik, sepsaných Janem Pavlem II. v období jeho pontifikátu. Použití filosofie tomistického personalismu na analýzu vybraných encyklik Jana Pavla II. může pomoci čtenáři pochopit nový antropologický a etický aspekt hodnocení současnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with reflexion of personalism in the thinking and work of John Paul II. Its first part is focused on a chronological description of his life and work and seeks to demonstrate mental development and integrity of this personality in different life situations, and at the same time, to capture the development of his conception of thomistic personalism from available texts. The second part specifies both differences and conformities of philosophical conception of this author with the philosophical conceptions of other authors of personalism. On the basis of the above mentioned philosophical postulates personalistic analysis of some selected papal encyclicals, written by John Paul II during the term of his pontificate, was carried out in the final part of this thesis. Te use of the philosophy of Thomistic personalism for the analysis of selected papal encyclicals of John Paul II can help the reader to understand the new anthropological and ethical aspect evaluation for the present time.
