The aim of this word is the detailed description of the process an the position of Germany in the eastward enlargement of modern history. The theoratical part is dedicatd to the general history of the European Union, in particular it´s period of greatest enlargement in 2004. Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsání a zhodnoceni procesu rozšiřování Evropské unie na východ v novodobé historii a pozice Německa v něm. V teoretické části je popsána obecná historie Evropské unie, zvláště pak období jejího největšího rozšíření v roce 2004.
