Work-life balance of successful women in business

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá ženami, které jsou aktivní v profesní rovině na manažerské úrovni a zároveň v domácnosti plní roli matky alespoň jednoho dítěte do 18 let. Cílem práce je totiž zjistit právě to, jak se jim pracovní a rodinný život daří slaďovat a jakou cestu musely ujít při nastavování vlastních pravidel jak se zaměstnavatelem, tak s rodinou. Teoretická část vysvětluje základní pojmy, jakými jsou například work-life balance, well-being, time management aj., ale popisuje i možnosti péče o dítě a možnosti podpory ze strany státu a zaměstnavatele. Praktická část je věnována kvalitativnímu výzkumu ve formě polostrukturovaných hloubkových rozhovorů s konkrétními matkami v businessu. Závěr obsahuje shrnutí rozhovorů a následné diskuse nad jednotlivými postupy spojené s doporučením pro ženy, které si chtějí budovat kariéru a zároveň zastávat roli matky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with women, who are active at the professional level at the managerial level, and at the same time, in the household, they play the role of a mother of at least one child under the age of 18 years. The aim of the thesis is to find out exactly how they manage to reconcile their work and family life and what path they had to take when setting their own rules with both the employer and the family. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts such as work-life balance, well-being, time management etc., but also describes the possibilities of child care and support from the state and employer. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with specific mothers in business. The conclusion contains a summary of the interviews and subsequent discussion of the procedures, linked to recommendations for women who want to build a career and become a mother.
