Values of young people in the Church

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnotami mladých lidí v církvích. Hodnoty jsou zkoumány kvalitativně i kvantitativně. V kvalitativní části se jedná o hlubší popis hodnot a samostatný oddíl je věnován hodnotě konformity. Kvantitativní část se zaměřuje se na porovnání hodnot u mladých lidí v církvi Českobratrské evangelické a v církvi Římskokatolické. V teoretické práci je vymezen pojem hodnota a je dále dán do souvislosti s náboženstvím. Je přiblíženo období adolescence a emerging adulthood a je vysvětlen výběr těchto období pro výzkum. Následuje pojednání o církvích, o odchodu mladých lidí z církví, o reakcích představitelů církví, o rozdílu obou denominací a možném vlivu tohoto rozdílu na hodnoty. Je vysvětlen výběr teorie hodnot S.H. Schwartze a tato teorie je přiblížena. V praktické části je provedena analýza sebraných dat, konkrétně vyhodnocení Schwartzova dotazníku a rozhovorů, týkajících se hodnot obecně a hodnoty konformity mladých lidí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the values of young people in Churches. Values are examined by qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative part of the research contains deeper description of values and separate section is devoted to value of conformity. Quantitative section focuses on comparing values of young people in the Church of Czech Brethren Evangelical and Roman Catholic. In the theoretical work there is a definition of values and it is then put into the context of religion. There is discussed the Adolescence and Emerging adulthood and there are explained the choice of those stages for the research. Treatise on the Churches follows, there are chapters about the departure of young people from Churches, reactions of Church representatives, the differences of Churches. The choice of the S.H. Schwartz Value theory is explained and this theory is described. In the practical part there is the analysis of collected data - Schwartz value questionnaire and interviews on values generally and conformity value of young people.
