Building Texts, Reading Spaces: An Analysis of Selected Novels by E. M. Forster and Evelyn Waugh
Abstract:
Abstract:
This thesis deals with how setting is used in two novels by E. M. Forster, namely in "A Room with a View" (1908) and "Howards End" (1910), and in Evelyn Waugh's novel "Brideshead Revisited" (1944). The novels are analysed separately and comparatively, in relation to critical theory focused on the reading and interpretation of a text.
