Effects on relation of medical public and pharmaceutical concerns

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá zjišťováním stanoviska lékařské veřejnosti k prezentaci jednotlivých farmaceutických firem. Dotazování mezi lékaři si klade za cíl odpovědět na otázku, zda prezentace farmaceutické firmy ovlivní lékaře natolik, že bude pacientům předepisovat pouze léčivé přípravky dané farmaceutické společnosti, nebo zda u lékaře zvítězí kvalita a výjimečnost nabízeného přípravku bez ohledu na to, jak se prezentuje firma, jež přípravek vyrábí. V teoreticko-metodologické části práce je nastíněna propagace léčivých přípravků farmaceutických firem, varianty podpory lékařské veřejnosti farmaceutickou firmou, vystupování obchodních zástupců (reprezentantů) a vliv etiky na rozhodování lékaře. Práce dále obsahuje popis zvolené metody terénního výzkumu – dotazování formou individuálního rozhovoru. V praktické části práce je blíže specifikována cílová skupina výzkumu, popis shromažďování dat výzkumu a shrnuty výsledky.

Abstract:

The work deals with ascertaining the attitude of practicing medical doctors to the presentation of individual pharmaceutical companies. The goal of the survey, carried out among medical doctors, is to answer the question of whether the presentation of a pharmaceutical company influences the doctor to such extent that he/she will keep prescribing medication by the given company only, or whether a particular product's quality and uniqueness prevails regardless of how the company presents itself. The theoretical and methodological part of the work outlines promoting methods of medical products, types of support provided by pharmaceutical companies to practicing doctors, the sales representatives' behavioural style, and the role of ethics in the doctors' decision making process. The work further includes a description of the chosen field-research method – an individual survey interview. The practical part of the work includes the specification of the survey's target group, description of survey-data collection and summary of results.
