The role of small farms in the development of the villages of the Eastern Ore Mountains

Abstract:

Malé farmy jsou klíčovým nástrojem pro udržitelné hospodaření s přírodními zdroji, udržení tradiční produkce zdravých a kvalitních potravin a zachování autentického venkovského života. Cílem této diplomové práce je představení postavení malých farem v hospodářském a sociálním rozvoji venkovských oblastí. Cíl práce je kromě obecné roviny řešen i na příkladu regionu Východního Krušnohoří. Tato práce obsahuje dva dílčí cíle, jimiž jsou: identifikace možností diverzifikace podnikatelských aktivit malých farem a identifikování nástrojů financování malých farem. V diplomové práci je využita řada výzkumných metod, především analýza, vlastní pozorování, osobní rozhovor, sondáž či komparace. Diplomová práce představuje zhodnocení přístupů k malým farmám, přínosnost farem pro rozvoj území, a také identifikuje možnosti rozšíření podnikatelských aktivit farem spolu s nástroji financování pro jejich vlastní rozvoj. Na základě syntézy poznatků z terénního šetření byla formulována doporučení pro rozvoj obcí Východního Krušnohoří a také pro rozvoj malých farem. Pro místní samosprávy se jedná především o efektivnější aplikaci spolupráce se zemědělskými subjekty a efektivnější využívání nástrojů pro realizaci těchto spoluprací či případných podpor. Malým farmám jsou formulována především doporučení pro rozšíření jejich nabídky služeb a také stručné doporučení podpory farem pro vnější prostředí s názornými příklady jiných zemí. Výsledky práce budou moci využít farmy i obce jako inspiraci pro jejich další možný rozvoj.

Abstract:

Small farms are a key tool for the sustainable management of natural resources, the maintenance of traditional production of healthy and high-quality food and the preservation of authentic rural life. The aim of the presented thesis is to introduce the position of small farms in economic and social development of rural areas. In addition to the general level, the aim is also solved on the example of the Eastern Ore Mountains region. Partial aims of the thesis are: identification of possibilities of diversification of business activities of small farms and identification of financial tools of small farms. Several research methods are used in the diploma thesis, especially analysis, observation, personal interview, probe, or comparison. The diploma thesis presents an evaluation of approaches to small farms, the benefits of farms for the development of the territory, and also identifies the possibilities of expanding the business activities on farms together with financing tools for their own development. Based on the synthesis of finding from the field survey, recommendations were formulated for the development of municipalities in the Eastern Ore Mountains and for the development of small farms. For municipalities, it is primarily a more effective application of cooperation with farms and more effective use of tools for the implementation of these cooperation or possible support. For small farms, recommendations are formulated primarily for expanding their range of services, brief recommendation for supporting farms from the external environment with examples of other countries. The results of the work will be able to be used by farms and municipalities as inspiration for their further possible development.
