Social representation of gifted children in MF DNES during years 1997-2013

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá identifikací mýtů a nesprávných přesvědčení souvisejících s mimořádně rozumově nadanými dětmi, jejich rozvojem, potřebami a péčí, na stránkách deníku MF DNES v letech 1997 – 2013. V teoretické části jsou popsány hlavní koncepty, které se týkají tématu nadání a talentu, dále charakteristiky mimořádně rozumově nadaných dětí a v neposlední řadě také mýty a stereotypy objevující se při jejich popisování. V další části se věnuji teorii sociálních reprezentací, jakožto možnému přístupu k získání porozumění o utváření sdílené představy nadaného dítěte ve společnosti, v tomto případě skrze denní tisk. Výzkumné otázky si stanovuji za účelem zjištění, co je diskutováno v souvislosti s nadanými a jakým způsobem interpretuje tematiku nadaných vybrané médium. Centrem mé pozornosti byl především okruh charakteristik mimořádně rozumově nadaných dětí. Nástrojem kvalitativního výzkumu, je obsahová analýza. Výsledkem práce je identifikace mýtů, nesprávných představ a dalších souvisejících konceptů, týkajících se rozumově mimořádně nadaných.

Abstract:

The focus of this bachelor thesis is identification of myths, stereotypes and further topics regarding to the intellectually gifted children, as their development, needs and support are, in the daily newspaper MF DNES for period 1997 – 2013. Theoretical part of this thesis is concerned with topics about giftedness, characteristics of gifted children, myths and stereotypes emerging in in their descriptions. Further the theory of social representations is mentioned as a possible approach to obtain an understanding of common shared image of gifted child, in this case through the media. I was focused on characteristics of intellectual gifted children. Research questions were built up to answer what is discussed in connection with gifted and how the media present theme about gifted children. Content analysis was chosen as the research method. As a result of the thesis is identification of myths, stereotypes and further concepts regarding to the intellectually gifted children.
