Barriers of inclusive education of pupils with mild intellectual disability

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá bariérami inkluzivního vzdělávání žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. První kapitola teoretické části definuje pojem mentálního postižení, jeho klasifikaci a etiologii. Dále charakterizuje žáka s lehkým mentálním postižením a roli rodiny. Druhá kapitola se zabývá vzděláváním žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením. Popisuje nejen inkluzivní vzdělávání, ale i vzdělávání ve školách zřízených dle § 16 a školách speciálních. V této kapitole jsou také vymezeny poradenské služby. Poslední teoretická kapitola se věnuje podstatným aspektům, které vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením významně ovlivňují. Kapitola praktické části práce představuje samotný výzkum, který byl zaměřen na výskyt možných bariér při vzdělávání žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením v běžných základních školách. Kvalitativní výzkumné šetření bylo uskutečněno za pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Celkem se výzkumu zúčastnilo 10 informantů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with barriers of inclusive education of pupils with mild intellectual disability. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines the concept of mental disability, its classification and etiology. Furthermore, a pupil with mild intellectual disability is characterized and the role of the family is explained. The second chapter deals with the education of pupils with mild intellectual disabilities and contains description of inclusive education, education in schools established under § 16 and special schools. Counselling services are also defined in this chapter. The last chapter in theoretical part deals with essential aspects that significantly affect the education of students with mental disabilities. Next part presents realized research and its purpose. The research is focused on the identification of possible barriers in education of pupils with mild intellectual disabilities at elementary schools. The qualitative research was conducted via semi-structured interviews. A total of 10 informants participated in this research.
