Regulating the sharing economy

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá oblastí sdílené ekonomiky, konkrétně odvětvím sdílené dopravy (společnost Uber) a sdíleného ubytování (společnost Airbnb). Cílem práce je kriticky zhodnotit situaci a způsoby nebo možnosti regulací v těchto oblastech sdílené ekonomiky ve vybraných zemích (Estonsko) a městech (Paříž, Berlín, Londýn) a v neposlední řadě také v České republice a Praze. Pomocí kritické analýzy je v závěrečné kapitole představena možnost, jak postupovat při regulování odvětví sdílené ekonomiky v ČR a následně nastíněno, zda je možné se inspirovat regulacemi přijatými v zahraničí.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the sharing economy, specifically with the transportation sector (Uber) and the home sharing sector (Airbnb). The aim of this thesis is to critically evaluate the current situation and possibility of regulating these sectors in selected countries (Estonia) and cities (Paris, Berlin, London) as well as to evaluate the situation in the Czech Republic and in Prague. Using the critical analysis, the final chapter introduces the possibility of regulating the sector of the sharing economy in the Czech Republic and outline whether it is possible to be inspired by regulations adopted abroad.
