Vegetated bars in the Bečva River channel - geomorphological and sedimentological parameters

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce studuje vzájemné vztahy mezi zrnitostí, morfologií a vegetačním krytem dvaceti šesti vybraných štěrkových lavic, které se nacházejí na části Vsetínské Bečvy (od obce Hovězí po soutok s Rožnovskou Bečvou) a na celém toku Spojené Bečvy až po soutok s řekou Moravou. Bečva je jedinečný vodní tok, na kterém během povodní v roce 1997 a následně i v letech 2006 a 2010 vznikly samovolně renaturalizované úseky. Pro získání dat bylo provedeno geodetické měření. Zrnitost byla měřena pomocí metody grid count. Dále byla zjišťována přítomnost rostlin a hustota porostu. Z dat vyplývá, že vytřídění materiálu se na Vsetínské Bečvě zhoršuje, ale na Spojené Bečvě se po proudu zlepšuje. Největší podíl na zrnitosti sedimentu má vzdálenost od proudnice. S rostoucí plochou lavice rostl také počet druhů. Nejhojnějším druhem byla chrastice rákosovitá (Phalaris arundinacea). Poznatky z této práce mohou být využity při podrobnějším studiu lavic na Bečvě nebo k porovnání změn po několika letech.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis studies relations between grain size, morphology and vegetation cover of twenty-six chosen gravel bars, which are located on the part of the Vsetínská Bečva (from village Hovězí to confluence with the Rožnovská Bečva) and on the Bečva River to the confluence with Morava. The Bečva river is a unique watercourse, which during floods in 1997 and subsequently in 2006 and 2010 created a renaturalized areas. Geodetic measurements were performed. Grain size was measured using the grid count method. The presence of species and their density were investigated. The data show, that sorting on the Vsetínská Bečva is getting worse, but on the Bečva River is getting better. The largest proportion of sediment grain size has the distance from the streamline. With the growing area of gravel bars, the number of species also increased. The most abundant species was Phalaris arundinacea. The information from this thesis can be used for more detailed study of gravel bars on the Bečva River or comparing changes after several years.
