Social contacts between family members and seniors living in house with day care

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku stáří a stárnutí jedinců v naší společnosti. V teoretické části se věnuji vymezení základních pojmů stáří a stárnutí, demografického stárnutí populace a věkové kategorizaci seniorského věku. V souvislosti s hodnocením kvality života seniorů stručně popisuji průběh biologických, psychologických a sociálních změn, změn v oblasti kognitivních funkcí, emocionality, osobnostních vlastností a psychosociálních potřeb. Obecně přibližuji pohled dnešní společnosti na problematiku stáří a oblast adaptace jedinců na nové podmínky seniorského věku. Další část je zaměřena na problematiku funkčnosti zdraví, soběstačnost seniorů a zdroje sociální pomoci. Empirická část diplomové práce se zabývá zkoumáním materiálních a sociálních zdrojů podporujících soběstačnost seniorů žijících v domě s pečovatelskou službou. Cílem výzkumu je zhodnotit soběstačnost seniorů v každodenním životě, zjistit jejich materiální a sociální zdroje pomoci a podpory a zmapovat sociální sítě jako zdroje sociální pomoci.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the issue of the senescence and the aging of people in our society. I devote the theoretic part to delimitation of the basic terms ?senescence? and ?aging?, demographic aging of the population and age categorisation of the senior age. I briefly describe the process of biological, psychological and social changes, changes in the domain of cognitive functions, emotionality, personal characters and psychosocial needs, in context with the ranking of the quality of senior?s lives. I generally introduce the view of present society on the issue of senescense and the domain of adaptation of subjects on the new senior-age conditions. Other part is focused on the problems of health function, the self-reliance of the seniors and the sources of the social help. The empiric part of the thesis is dealing with exploring the material and social sources encouraging the self-reliance of the seniors living in the house with social services. The goal of the research is to evaluate the self-reliance of the seniors in everyday life, find out their material and social sources of help and support and chart social networks as the sources of social help.
