Teenage girls awareness of toxic shock syndrome - public inquiry

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je problematika syndromu toxického šoku. Práce si klade za cíl zjistit informovanost žákyň základních a studentek středních škol o problematice syndromu toxického šoku, dále pak zmapovat hygienické návyky dívek během menstruačního cyklu. Teoretická část je rozdělena do dvou kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá samotným onemocněním syndromu toxického šoku. Druhá kapitola se věnuje osobní hygieně a hygienickým pomůckám a samotné menstruaci. Praktická část se zabývá metodikou výzkumu, charakteristikou průzkumného vzorku, analýzou získaných dat. V diskuzi jsou okomentované výsledky průzkumu a v závěru je uvedeno celkové shrnutí průzkumného šetření s doporučením pro praxi. Průzkum proběhl na základní škole Broumovská Liberec, Sokolovská Liberec a základní škole Lesní v Liberci. Dále na středních školách Podještědského gymnázia, střední zdravotnické škole a střední průmyslové textilní škole v Liberci.

Abstract:

The topic of this work is toxic shock syndrome. The aim of this paper is to find out whenever the female students from high schools are aware of the existence of the toxic shock syndrome and to get to know the girl{\crq}s hygiene habits during period as well. The theoretical part of this paper was divided into the two main chapters. The first one deals with the phenomenon of the toxic shock syndrome itself. The second chapter presents the issues like the menstruation cycle, personal hygiene and sanitary protection. The practical part deals with the methodology of this survey and with the data analysis of the typical researched sample. In this chapter there is also the discussion about the outcomes of this survey and at the very end of this paper is attached the conclusion of the survey. The research was taken at following schools in Liberec: Primary school Broumovská Liberec, Primary school Sokolovská Liberec, Primary school Lesní in Liberec, Secondary Grammar school Podještědské gymnasium, the Nursing school in Liberec and the Technical high school in Liberec.
