Factors of toxic workplace environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou toxického pracovního prostředí. Cílem práce je zjistit míru toxicity pracovního prostředí společnosti ABC a identifikovat faktory, které tuto toxicitu vytváří. Součástí cíle práce je také vytvořit návrh doporučení pro eliminaci problémových vlivů. Práce pojednává o důležitosti porozumění problematiky a negativních dopadech na organizace v případě pasivního přístupu vedení a zaměstnanců. Jako výzkumná metoda je zvolen hloubkový polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Rozhovory se zaměstnanci společnosti ABC představují zdroj primárních dat pro následnou analýzu. S pomocí programu MAXQDA je určena míra toxicity a identifikován přední faktor v podobě vysokých pracovních nároků na zaměstnance. Návrh doporučení eliminace toxického faktoru představuje regulaci pracovních požadavků na zaměstnance, kterému pomůže např. motivační analýza.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of a toxic work environment. The primary objective of the thesis is to evaluate the toxicity of the working environment at ABC company as well as pinpoint the contributing elements. The secondary objective is to make a draft of actions to assist the cleansing of a toxic work-space. The thesis aims to discover the issues and side-effects of a passive management and employee approach towards organisation. As the research method, an in-depth, semi-structured interview is chosen. Interviews with ABC employees represent a source of primary data for subsequent analysis. The MAXQDA program assists in determining the level of toxicity and the primary factor of high work demands on employees is identified. In order to eliminate the toxic factor, it is recommended to regulate the job requirements for employees, which can be done with the aid of the findings from motivational analysis.
