The main objective of the thesis is to analyse two translations by Julia and Peter Sherwood. Under the scope of Maria Tymoczko’s holistic approach to translation, the thesis tries to account for how the cultural mediation between the original and translated works was handled and observe potential patterns of the translators’ choice regarding domesticating or foreignising strategies of cultural phenomena …more
