Effectiveness of defense measures against bark beetles of the genus Ips (De Geer) on spruce during the period of gradation of the Engraver Spruce Beetle(Ips typographus L.)

Abstract:

Cílem mé bakalářské práce bylo vyhodnotit efektivitu obranných opatření proti lýkožroutu smrkovému (Ips typographus L.), a to pomocí lapačů, lapáku a porovnáním se stojícími stromy, kde se následně porovnávala abundance na jednotlivých zařízeních. Toto šetření bylo prováděno na dvou lokalitách, a to Polesí Sklené a Polesí Habrůvka. Práce je rozdělena na několik častí. Literární přehled zahrnuje seznam dostupných informací k tématům zabývajícím se popisem lýkožrouta smrkového, způsobem života a jeho vývojem, jeho přirozenými nepřáteli, fylogenetickou, gradací a obrannými opatřeními. V kapitole Materiál a metodika jsou uvedené použité metody: zpracování dat pomocí Excelu, umístění lapačů v porostu, vyhodnocení lapáku a stojících stromů. Výsledky práce vyhodnocují abundanci na jednotlivých obranných a kontrolních opatřeních a vliv oobranných opatření na gradaci ve smrkových porostech.

Abstract:

The goal of my bachelor's thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of defense measures against the Engraver Spruce Beetle (Ips typographus L.), using traps, a trap and comparison with standing trees, where the abundance on individual devices was subsequently compared. This investigation was carried out at two locations, namely Polesí Sklené and Polesí Habrůvka. The work is divided into several parts. The literature review includes a list of available information on topics dealing with the description of the spruce bark beetle, its lifestyle and development, its natural enemies, phylogenetics, gradation and defense measures. In the chapter Material and methodology, the methods used are presented: data processing using Excel, placement of traps in the stand, evaluation of the trap and standing trees. The results of the work evaluate the abundance of individual defense and control measures and the effect of defense measures on gradation in spruce stands.
