Payment Systems in Slovakia

Abstract:

The bachelor work deals the definition of payment and payment system, as well as characterizing the development of payment systems in European scale and aspect of the Slovak Republic. The aim of this work is based on the definition and analysis of payment systems in the Slovak Republic in mutual comparison, specify their importance in terms of realized interbank payment system. The theoretical part is devoted to theoretical definition of payment and forms of payment. Then discusses selected aspects payments with emphasis on SWFI, BIC and IBAN. The most prevalent form part of the chapter payment systems at European level with focus mainly on systems I. TARGET, TARGET II., Which follows the analytical part. Subsequently be discussed later, alternative payment systems and SEPA payments. The analytical part is devoted to the development of payment systems in the Slovak Republic. Analyzes SIPS and TARGET2-SK, in terms of the volume of payments, their history, charges, clearing and during direct and indirect participants in such systems. The third part is devoted to assessment and prospects of further development of payment systems and SEPA payments.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá definovaním platobného styku a platobného systému, ako aj charakterizovaním vývoja platobných systémov v európskom meradle a z aspektu Slovenskej republiky. Cieľom práce je na základe vymedzenia a analýzy platobných systémov v podmienkach Slovenskej republiky vo vzájomnej komparácii, špecifikovať ich význam z pohľadu realizovaného medzibankového platobného styku. Teoretická časť sa venuje teoretickému vymedzeniu platobného styku a formám platobného styku. Následne rozoberá vybrané aspekty platieb s akcentom na SWFIT, BIC a IBAN. Najrozšírenejšiu časť kapitoly tvoria platobné systémy v európskom meradle zo zameraním hlavne na systémy TARGET I., TARGET II., na ktoré nadväzuje aj analytická časť. Následne ešte rozoberieme alternatívne platobné systémy a SEPA platby. Analytická časť sa venuje vývojom platobných systémov v Slovenskej republike. Analyzuje SIPS a TARGET 2-SK, z pohľadu objemu platieb, ich histórie, poplatkov, priebehu zúčtovania a priamych a nepriamych účastníkov týchto systémov. Tretia časť sa venuje zhodnoteniu a perspektívam ďalšieho vývoja platobných systémov a SEPA platieb.
