The Comparison of Czech and Austrian Education with Regard to the Teaching of Social Sciences at Secondary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá srovnáním českého a rakouského školství s ohledem na výuku ZSV na střední škole. První kapitola pojednává o historii školství, která je do rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska pro obě země společná. Ve druhé kapitole je představen vzdělávací systém Česka a Rakouska, na který navazuje další část práce věnující se výuce společenských věd na českém gymnáziu ve Velkých Pavlovicích a na rakouském Diefenbach Gymnasium ve Vídni. Poslední kapitola je zaměřena na srovnání české a rakouské učebnice, podle kterých se filozofie vyučuje v obou zemích.

Abstract:

The present diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the Czech and Austrian education considering the teaching of social sciences at high schools. The first chapter deals with the history of education of both countries until the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The second chapter introduces the educational system of the Czech Republic and Austria which is followed by another part of the thesis that deals with teaching social sciences at the Czech grammar school in Velké Pavlovice and at the Austrian Diefenbach Gymnasium in Vienna. The last chapter is focused on comparison of a Czech and an Austrian textbook, according to which philosophy is taught in both countries.
