Regional differences in agriculture in Netherlands

Abstract:

Má bakalářská práce se věnuje regionální diferenciaci v zemědělství v Nizozemsku na úrovni NUTS 2 regionů. Práce se dělí na dvě hlavní části. Celá první část je věnována fyzicko-geografické charakteristice, která má značný vliv na rozmístění zemědělské produkce. Konkrétně se zaměřuji na reliéf a krajiny spojené s antropogenní činností, klima a typ půd v Nizozemsku. Součástí této části je také vhled do využití zemědělské půdy v tomto státě. V druhé části se zabývám zemědělskou výrobou. Věnuji se ekonomické charakteristice a významu agrárního odvětví, zaměstnaností v zemědělství nebo strukturou a velikostí farem. Tato část se věnuje především rostlinné a živočišné produkci a jejím subkapitolám. Na závěr této kapitoly uvádím hlavní rozdíly mezi regiony z pohledu jejich zaměření zemědělské produkce. Prvním cílem mé bakalářské práce je posoudit využívání zemědělské půdy ve spojitosti s fyzicko-geografickou charakteristikou oblasti. Druhým cílem je zhodnotit odlišnosti zemědělské produkce mezi jednotlivými NUTS 2 regiony v Nizozemsku.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis deals with regional differences in agriculture in the Netherlands at the level of NUTS 2 regions. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is dedicated to physical-geographic characteristics, which has substantial influence on the placement of agricultural production. Specifically, I turn my attention to relief and landscapes which relate to anthropogenic activity, climate and soils types in the Netherlands. Part of this sections is also the view into land use in this state. In the second part I am concerned with agricultural production. I deal with economical characteristic and value of agricultural sector, employment in agriculture or structure and size of the farms. This part is specially dedicated to crop and livestock production and its chapters. In the conclusion of this part I state the main differences between regions from the view of their orientation on their agricultural production. The first aim of my bachelor thesis is to evaluate the agricultural land use in connection with physical-geographic characteristics of the region. The second aim is to evaluate the differences in agricultural production between the NUTS 2 regions of the Netherlands.
