The Relationship between Body Image and Well-Being in High School Students

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje tématu vztah body image a well-beingu žáků středních škol. Teoretická část této práce je členěna do dvou kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá tématem well-being a druhá kapitola práce se věnuje tématu body image. Pojem body image můžeme do českého jazyka přeložit jako tělesné sebepojetí a pojem well-being jako osobní pohoda. Cílem této práce bylo identifikovat vztah mezi body image a well-beingem žáků středních škol Ústeckého kraje. Cílem práce bylo také zmapovat úroveň well-beingu a body image u žáků středních škol Ústeckého kraje. Pro výzkumné šetření bylo zvoleno kvantitativní pojetí výzkumu. Výzkum byl realizován prostřednictvím on-line dotazníku a zapojilo se do něj 868 žáků středních škol Ústeckého kraje. Výsledky výzkumného šetření ukázaly, že existuje vztah mezi body image a well-beingem u žáků středních škol Ústeckého kraje.

Abstract:

This Diploma thesis focuses on the relationship between body image and well-being in High school students. The theoretical part of this thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter concentrates on the topic of well-being and the second chapter of the thesis focuses on the topic of body image. The term body image can be translated into Czech as "tělesné sebepojetí" and the term well-being as "osobní pohoda". The aim of this thesis is to identify the relationship between body image and well-being in high school students in the Ústí nad Labem region. Another aim of the thesis is to map the level of well-being and body image in high school students of the Ústí nad Labem region. A quantitative research was selected as a main tool for this research. The research was conducted through an online questionnaire and involved 868 students of high schools in the Ústí nad Labem region. The research's results showed a relationship between body image and well-being in high school students of the Ústí nad Labem region.
