History of the death penalty in Czechoslovakia

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této bakalářské práce je trest smrti. Teoretická část popisuje nejen historii trestu smrti na našem území, ale i na celém světě. Dále jsou rozebrány další oblasti, které s tímto tématem souvisí. Začátek práce definuje samotný trest a jeho účel. Důležitou částí je i kapitola o způsobech výkonu tohoto trestu, která navazuje na jeho historii na našem území. Konec teoretické části se zabývá odpůrci a zastánci trestu smrti, právní úpravou tohoto trestu spolu s jeho možnými alternativami. Cílem této práce je zjištění názorů občanů ČR na trest smrti a následné porovnání s odbornými výzkumy. Praktická část se skládá z dotazníkového šetření a komparace dat, z jejichž výsledků jsou zjištěny cíle této práce.

Abstract:

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the death penalty. The theoretical part describes not only the history of the death penalty in our territory, but also in the whole world. Next, other areas related to this topic are discussed. The beginning of the work defines the punishment itself and its purpose. An important part is also the chapter on the methods of execution of this sentence, which builds on its history in our territory. The end of the theoretical part deals with opponents and supporters of the death penalty, the legal regulation of this punishment together with its possible alternatives. The aim of this thesis is to find out the opinions of Czech citizens on the death penalty and then compare it with professional research. The practical part consists of a questionnaire survey and a comparison of data, from the results of which the objectives of this work are determined.
