Religious extremism and new religion movements on the Internet

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářské práce je uvedením do problematiky nově vznikajících náboženských hnutí ve spojitosti s extremismem, který je v činnosti těchto uskupení často sledován. Popisuje jak základní pojmy, související s daným tématem, jako jsou náboženství, sekta, kult či církev, tak se zabývá i otázkou samotného označení termínu Nová náboženská hnutí. Obsah práce je v celkovém pohledu směrován na propojení náboženských skupin, mnohdy označovaných za extremistické, s všeobecně rozšířeným médiem internetu a jeho službami, které nabízejí mnoho cest k propagaci a prezentování vlastních názorů.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the problems of new religion movements in connection with extremism which is often associated with their activities. It focus on the basic terms related to the appropriate theme as are a religion, a denomination, a cult or the Church and also on the problem of the signification New religion movements. The whole content is directed towards the connection between religion groups often marked as extremist and internet with its applications offering so many ways for propagation and presentation of own views and attitudes.
