Achievements and failures in the railway construction in Austrian Silesia of 1870s
Abstract:
Práce na konkrétním příkladě vývoje akciové společnosti Moravskoslezská centrální dráha osvětluje obecný fenomén krize soukromé výstavby železnic v 70. letech 19. století. Zároveň je přínosná pro dějiny železnic tím, že zatím nejúplněji shrnuje dostupný materiál o dějinách nedostavěné trati Opava – Fulnek, kterou zasazuje do obecných ekonomických dějin Předlitavska.
Abstract:
The thesis shows on a particular case of Moravskoslezská centrální dráha, PLC (Moravian-Silesian Central Railway), the development and the general phenomenon of crisis in private railway constructing in the 1870s. As the most detailed survey on the unfinished line Opava - Fulnek so far it also contributes to the local railway history in the context of the economical history of Habsburg Monarchy.
