The automation and robotization of perianalytical processes in a clinical laboratory - a project for a large biochemical laboratory

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá perianalytickými systémy. Na počátku se věnuje detailnímu popisu jednotlivých systémů. Dále je zde uveden tabulkový přehled a shrnutí jejich podstatných vlastností. Se záměrem připravit podklady pro budoucí implementaci perianalytického systému byla na Oddělení klinické biochemie a hematologie následně provedena podrobná workflow analýza laboratorních činností. V další části práce je popsána volba perianalytického systému Modular Preanalytics (Roche Diagnostics) a je zde zachycen rozsáhlý proces přípravy a realizace instalace. Následuje optimalizace provozu a vyhodnocení celého projektu z hlediska ekonomiky, chyb i produktivity práce. Cílem poslední části práce je uvedení kompletního postupu, který by mohl být nápomocen při zavádění perianalytické automatizace v jiných laboratořích.

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis is focused on perianalytical systems. The beginning of the dissertation thesis is dedicated to a detailed description of the individual perianalytical systems. There is also a table overview and a summary of their important characteristics. To prepare a basis for the future implementation of a perianalytical system, a detailed workflow analysis of the laboratory procedures at the Department of clinical biochemistry and hematology was consequently performed. The next part of the thesis describes the selection of the Modular Preanalytics (Roche Diagnostics) perianalytical system and the extensive process of preparing and realizing the installation. This is followed by optimalizations of the process and the evaluation of the entire project from an economic viewpoint, with regard to the number of errors and work productivity. The goal of the last part of the thesis is the introduction of a complete procedure which could help with the implementation of perianalytical automation in other laboratories.
