Historical and present aspects of the Village of the Year competition

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce má za cíl zjistit přínos soutěže Vesnice roku pro jednotlivé obce, které se této soutěže zúčastnily. V teoretické části je představena soutěž jako celek. Jsou zde uvedeny historické i současné aspekty soutěže, hodnotící kritéria, ocenění, která lze v soutěži získat. Je také popsán vývoj soutěže v posledních deseti letech. K získání dat pro praktickou část práce jsou využity dvě metody sběru dat. Jednou z metod je strukturovaný dotazník, který je vyplněn zastupiteli vítězných obcí v jednotlivých letech soutěže. Druhou metodou je polostrukturovaný rozhovor se starosty vybraných obcí, které se soutěže v minulosti zúčastnily. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty pozitiva a negativa pro obce, které vyplývají z účasti soutěže Vesnice roku.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s thesis aims to find out the asset of the Village of the Year competition to the particular municipalities which took part in this competition. The competition as a whole is presented in the theoretical part. Specifically, the historical and present aspects of the competition, the evaluation criteria and the awards which can be obtained in the competition are listed there. Also the development of the competition during last ten years is described in this part of thesis. Two methods of data collection are used for acquiring data for the practical part of the bachelor´s thesis. First method is a structured questionnaire, which is filled in by representatives of the prize-winning municipalities in every year of the competition. The second method is a semi-structured interview with the mayors of chosen municipalities that have participated in the competition in the past. The positives and negatives for the municipalities following from the participating in the Village of the Year are summarized in the end of the work.
