The artist as a respondent on the Internet and his online self-promotion

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá tvorbou současného britského umělce, nakladatele, spisovatele a technologa Jamese Bridla. Zkoumá jeho široké zaměření a na vybrané tvorbě představuje propojení a využití moderních informačních technologií a jejich roli v rámci umělcovy sebeprezentace. V první části překládá a vysvětluje souhrn používaných výrazů Jamesem Bridlem. Další kapitoly jsou věnovány vybrané tvorbě, která nejlépe demonstruje jeho vztah k technologiím a internetu. Na závěr je práce zhodnocená i na základě dalších současných umělců. Práce si klade za cíl komplexně shrnout tvorbu Jamese Bridla a odpovědět na otázky, jak tento umělec pro svou tvorbu využívá internet a technologie, jakým způsobem reaguje na chování (nejen lidí) na internetu, a jak mu tento neobvyklý přístup pomáhá budovat vlastní značku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the creation of contemporary British artist, Publisher, writer and technologist James Bridel. Examines its broad focus and also represents on a selected formation the connection and use of modern information technologies and communication technologies and their role in artist's selfpresentation. The first part presents and explains the summary of terms used by James Bridle. Next chapters are devoted to selected works that best demonstrates his relationship with technology and internet. at the conclusion the thesis is assessed with a regard to other contemporary artists. Work aims to comprehensively summarize the work of James Bridle and answer questions how is this artist using the internet and technology for his work, how his work reacts to the behavior of (not only) people on the internet and also how this unusual approach helps to build his own brand.
