Evaluation of the effect of medical rehabilitation in patients after total knee replacement

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá zhodnocením efektu léčebné rehabilitace u pacientů po implantaci totální endoprotézy kolenního kloubu. Prvním cílem práce bylo posouzení vlivu léčebné rehabilitace na pohyblivost kolenního kloubu, druhým cílem bylo zhodnocení jejího vlivu na vnímání bolesti kolenního kloubu a posledním cílem bylo zhodnocení jejího vlivu na přítomnost otoku v oblasti operované dolní končetiny. Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen jedenácti pacientkami, kterým byla implantována totální endoprotéza kolenního kloubu. U všech pacientek byly porovnány vstupní a výstupní hodnoty, které byly získány na začátku a na konci rehabilitačního programu subakutní fáze léčebné rehabilitace. Výsledky ukázaly, že došlo ke statisticky významnému zvýšení rozsahu pohybu v operovaném kloubu, ke statisticky významnému snížení bodování na numerické škále bolesti a také ke statisticky významnému snížení naměřených obvodů operované dolní končetiny. Z toho vyplývá, že léčebná rehabilitace přináší pozitivní efekt u pacientů po implantaci totální endoprotézy kolenního kloubu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with evaluation of the effect of medical rehabilitation in patients after total knee replacement. The first aim of this work was to assess the ef-fect of medical rehabilitation on the mobility of the knee joint. The second aim was to evaluate the effect of medical rehabilitation on the perception of knee pain and the last aim was to evaluate the effect of medical rehabilitation on the presence of swell-ing in the operated lower limb. The research group consisted of eleven patients who underwent total knee replacement. The input and output values of all patients, which were performed at the beginning and at the end of the rehabilitation program of the subacute phase of medical rehabilitation, were compared. The results show that there was a statistically significant increase in range of motion in the operated joint, a statistically significant decrease in scoring on the numerical pain scale, and such a statistically significant decrease in the measured circumferences of the operated lower limb. It follows that medical rehabilitation has a positive effect in patients after total knee replacement.
