Abstract:

V Mexiku existuje více případů násilí na ženách než diagnóz koronaviru. Tato studie se zaměřuje na eskalující násilí páchaného na ženách v období před pandemií COVID-19 i po ní. Podle údajů od UN Women za rok 2020 zažívá sexuální a/nebo fyzické násilí přibližně 243 milionů žen a dívek ve věku 15–49 let. Hlavní důraz je kladen na vraždění žen jakožto na naléhavé mezinárodní téma. Tato problematika je důkladně prozkoumána a zaměřuje se na kritickou situaci, která vyžaduje okamžitou pozornost: V Mexiku je zavražděno deset žen denně z důvodů souvisejících s pohlavím, což potvrzuje naléhavou potřebu společenské změny. Tato práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat kulturní kořeny, a dále institucionální selhání a sociální dynamiku, která udržuje toto násilí naživu. Metodika této práce využívá prvky kvantitativní i kvalitativní analýzy. Tato studie nabízí komplexnější pochopení těchto skrytých faktorů. Přijetí kritické genderové perspektivy podporované teorií feminismu se zaměřuje na transformaci co se týče řešení genderově podmíněného násilí v Mexiku.

Abstract:

In Mexico, more cases of violence against women exist than the diagnoses of coronavirus. This study focuses on escalating violence against women, spanning both the pre and post-COVID-19 pandemic periods. According to impactful 2020 data from the UN Women, approximately 243 million women and girls, aged 15-49, experience sexual and/or physical violence. The primary emphasis is on feminicides as a pressing national issue. This urgent concern is closely examined, revealing a critical situation that demands immediate attention: Ten women per day are murdered for gender-related reasons in Mexico, underscoring the imperative need for social change. This thesis aims to explore the cultural roots, institutional failures, and social dynamics perpetuating this violence while utilizing a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative methods. This study offers a more comprehensive understanding of these underlying factors. Embracing a critical gender perspective supported by feminist theory advocates for impactful transformations in addressing gender-based violence in Mexico.
