From integration to inclusion. A case study of a primary school

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou inkluze ve spojitosti s připraveností konkrétní základní školy na přechod k inkluzivnímu vzdělávání. Právě inkluze tvoří ústřední linku, od teoretických východisek, přes definice až ke způsobům jejího hodnocení ve školním prostředí. V teoretické části je v historických souvislostech, na základě popisu postupné demokratizace výchovy, představen vývoj přístupu k lidem s postižením, který se odráží v požadavcích kladených na efektivní vzdělávání v současné společnosti euroantlatického typu. Empirická část prostřednictvím výzkumných nástrojů na konkrétní základní škole zjišťuje a popisuje dosavadní zkušenosti učitelů s integrací, jejich postoji k integraci a inkluzi. Dále popisuje připravenost školy na inkluzivní vzdělávání z pohledu managementu. Na základě zjištěných dat bylo možné identifikovat hlavní překážky připravované změny a navrhnout opatření nutná pro úspěšný rozvoj inkluzivního vzdělávání na škole.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of inclusion in connection with the preparation of the specific elementary school for the transition to inclusive education. Inclusion is a central line of the work, beginning from the theoretical background, through the definition of inclusion up to the means of its evaluation in the school environment. In the theoretical part, the development of the approach to people with disabilities, reflected in the requirements placed on effective education in contemporary society of a Euro Atlantic type, is presented in historical context and on the basis of gradual democratisation of education. The empirical part of the thesis, through the research tools at a specific elementary school, examines and describes the experience of the teachers with the integration and their attitudes towards integration and inclusion. Subsequently, it describes the readiness of the schools for inclusive education from the perspective of the management. On the basis of recorded data, it was possible to identify the main obstacles to the upcoming changes and to design measures necessary for the successful development of inclusive education at the school.
