The relationship between emotional intelligence and team functioning

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na vztah emoční inteligence a fungování týmu. Cílem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat, jaký vliv má EI na fungování v pracovním prostředí mezi jednotlivými zaměstnanci dvou firem, prozkoumat vztah EI a pracovního výkonu, ale také vztah EI a sociálních vztahů mezi spolupracovníky. Práce je členěna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Celkem obsahuje osm kapitol. Teoretická část je věnována emocím, emoční inteligenci a pracovnímu výkonu zaměstnanců. K získání dat je použit kvantitativní výzkum v podobě dotazníkového šetření doplněno o dodatečné otázky pro vedoucí zkoumaných týmů. Výstupy regresní analýzy jsou okomentované v praktické části. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že u pracovníků ve vybraných firmách převažuje vysoká úroveň EI.

Abstract:

The master thesis is focused on the relationship between emotional intelligence and team functioning. The aim of this thesis is to examine the influence of EI on functioning in the work environment between employees of two companies, to examine the relationship between EI and work performance, but also the relationship between EI and social relations between co-workers. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In total it contains eight chapters. The theoretical part is dedicated to emotions, emotional intelligence and work performance of employees. Quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire survey is used to obtain data, supplemented by additional questions answered by the team leaders. The outputs of the regression analysis are commented in the practical part. The results of the research show that a high level of EI prevails among employees in selected companies.
