Influence of Covid-19 Pandemic on Unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian Region

Abstract:

Cílem práce je prozkoumat vliv pandemie covid-19 na nezaměstnanost v Moravskoslezském kraji v letech 2020 a 2021, porovnat tyto údaje s běžným obdobím roku 2018 a 2019 a také zjistit, jak se dané hodnoty změnily během r. 2022. Dále tato práce zhodnocuje míru nezaměstnanosti v jednotlivých krajích ČR i v celé České republice a porovnává ji s jinými zeměmi Evropské unie ve vybraném období. Tato bakalářská práce s názvem Vliv pandemie covid-19 na nezaměstnanost v Moravskoslezském kraji se skládá ze dvou teoretických a jedné praktické kapitoly. První dvě kapitoly vymezují základní pojmy jako práce a zaměstnání, trh práce, jeho subjekty a také právo na zaměstnání. Zabývá se problematikou ohrožených skupin a politikou zaměstnanosti. Dále ukazuje, jaké ukazatele jsou používány pro statistiky. Vymezuje typy nezaměstnanosti, její příčiny, důsledky a možnosti snižování. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na komparaci jednotlivých období z hlediska míry nezaměstnanosti zemí Evropské unie a zhodnocuje vliv pandemie v celé ČR a v Moravskoslezském kraji, jenž dále srovnává s Jihomoravským krajem. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že pandemie covid-19 měla na nezaměstnanost v Moravskoslezském kraji značný vliv, jelikož byl v tomto období zaznamenán nárůst evidovaných uchazečů až o jednu třetinu. Také ve většině krajů ČR a některých zemích EU došlo alespoň k mírnému zvýšení míry nezaměstnanosti během covidových opatření.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis is to study the influence of the pandemic covid-19 on unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian region in the years 2020 and 2021, compare this data with the ordinary time window of the years 2018 and 2019, and also find out how the numbers changed over the year 2022. This thesis also examines the total unemployment rate in specific regions of ČR, in the Czech Republic as a whole and compares it with other countries of the European Union in the selected time period. This Bachelor thesis with the name Influence of the pandemic covid-19 on unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian region consists of two theoretical chapters and one practical. The first two chapters explain basic titles such as work and job, labor market, its subjects as well as the right to employment. It studies problematic of endangered groups and the employment policy. It also shows what indicators are used for statistics and explains types of unemployment, their causes, consequences, and options for lowering them. The third chapter focuses on the comparison of individual time periods from a point of view of the unemployment rate of countries of the European Union and compares the influence of the pandemic in all of the Czech Republic as well as in the Moravian-Silesian region, which is then compared to South Moravian region. The outcome of this thesis is the realization, that the pandemic covid-19 had a visible influence on unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian region because there was a registered increase of jobseekers by up to one third. Also in most regions of ČR and some countries of the EU was at least a mild increase in the unemployment rate by the time of covid measures.
